Attracting & retaining staff continues to be an issue for restaurants. What if you could reduce the time from hiring to competency on the frontline, ⤵️ onboarding costs, and monitor employee performance. Oh, AND offer a better frontline worker experience. https://t.co/dqk1alrwa7

ABOUT

PlayerLync is a provider of mobile content management, learning, and operational performance software to companies with deskless employees. The software solution empowers its users to distribute various types of content (e.g. videos, text files, rich digital media, etc.) to in-field mobile devices without the constraints commonly encountered in low bandwidth environments.

The software was developed to serve the needs of professional sports teams to enable the distribution of large amounts of video-based content (e.g. playbooks and game film review) to players’ and coaches’ tablets. Over time, management found parallels between the challenges that its professional sports customers were facing and those faced by companies in industries with deskless employees such as in the hospitality and retail verticals.

WHY WE INVESTED IN PLAYERLYNC

A majority of the US workforce is comprised of deskless workers. Despite this overwhelming majority, the vast amount of successful software companies selling B2B applications cater to the needs of the office worker. As the proliferation of mobile devices continues and as younger generations show an affinity towards video-based content in lieu of printed materials and manuals, we believe there is a large opportunity for emerging mobile technology companies to meet the evolving needs of the deskless workforce.

Enter PlayerLync –

Volition Managing Partner, Roger Hurwitz, notes, “PlayerLync’s technology provides the mobility these customers need and addresses numerous challenges faced by deskless workers, including low bandwidth that constrains the ability to access rich learning content; an inconsistent group of co-workers due to high employee turnover; fast-paced and stressful working environments that yield little time for real-time learning; and an inability to communicate with corporate-level management.”
