New Deal Team Members
Danielle Brown, Associate
Before joining Volition, Danielle Brown worked as a private equity associate at Audax Private Equity in Boston. She worked on Audax’ deal team as a generalist, partnering with existing portfolio companies and executing new investments.
She received her B.A. in Political Science from Middlebury College and graduated Magna Cum Laude. Danielle played field hockey at Middlebury College, where she served as a captain and is a four-peat NESCAC and NCAA Division III National Champion.
Isabelle Tashima, Associate
Before joining Volition, Isabelle worked as an Investment Banking Analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York City. She was part of the Cross Markets Group, the firm’s middle market M&A team.
She received her B.A. in Economics with a minor in Psychology from Harvard College, and most recently received her MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management. She was an MBA Early Admit into Sloan.
While at Harvard, Isabelle played on the Varsity Women’s Volleyball Team.
Justin Chung, Analyst
Justin graduated from Northwestern University with a BA in Economics and a minor in Business.
Before joining Volition, Justin took on various roles across investing and tech, including internships at Summit Partners, Atoms VC, Coinflip (crypto startup), and an externship at Battery Ventures.
He was involved in various organizations such as the NU Investment Banking Club, NU Blockchain Club, and played intramural basketball.
Trevor Eckler, Analyst
Trevor graduated from Williams college where he majored in economics and psychology.
He wrote a senior thesis in social psychology about political hypocrisy in the United States.
Trevor rowed all four years of college, winning three NESCAC championships and two Division III national championships.
James McGibbon, Analyst
James graduated from Princeton with a BA in History, specializing in Empires, Classics, and Diplomacy.
He was a flanker and international tour coordinator for the Princeton Rugby Club.
During his 2020 gap year, James worked in business development for an ed-tech startup and in investment analysis at a real estate firm, while running a test prep tutoring side-hustle.
James has multiple perspectives on the software sector, both as an investment intern at Teamworthy Ventures, a SaaS VC fund, and as a BDR intern at Worksmith, a facilities maintenance software platform.
Cassidy Piersiak, Analyst
Cassidy received her B.A. in Business Economics from Brown University and a Certificate in Entrepreneurship.
At Brown, she played on the Women’s Ice Hockey team, where she was an ACHA Scholar All-American and was placed on the ECAC All-Academic team all four years. Outside of sports, Cassidy was a student tutor in Calculus and Macroeconomics.
Before joining full-time, Cassidy was a summer intern at Volition.
Ainsley Radell, Analyst
Ainsley loves being outdoors, hiking, swimming, playing beach volleyball, pickleball, mountain biking and backpacking. A life goal of hers is to visit all the National Parks in the US.
Ainsley grew up in the Bay Area and is the oldest of four siblings.
She started a friendship bracelet business at the age of 7, selling the bracelets outside our community pool and earning $150 in a summer.
She participated in Amigos de las América’s and lived in the Dominican Republic for a summer in high school to teach elementary school English classes and organize a local volleyball team.
Nikki Schwenk, Analyst
Nikki was a part of Duke University’s 100th graduating class where she received a BC in Neuroscience, minor in Computational Biology & Bioinformatics, and a certificate in Digital Intelligence.
She served as CEO of Campus Enterprises LLC., Duke’s oldest and most successful student-run business, generating $130K in profit her senior year.
Before joining Volition, Nikki interned at H.C. Wainwright on their healthcare investment banking team and as a quality engineer at Clear Point Neuro Inc.
New Ops Team Members
Kevin Lamo, Finance Manager
Before joining Volition, Kevin worked in the portfolio finance group at Advent International, and prior to that was at PwC, focused on investment performance reporting for traditional and alternative asset managers.
He started his career at EzeSoftware, consulting with hedge funds and asset managers on the order management platform.
He graduated with a BS in Accounting from Central Connecticut State University and holds an MBA from the Boston College Carroll School of Management.
Allyson Gallagher, Accounting Manager
Prior to Volition Capital, Allyson worked as Senior Tax Associate at PwC servicing the Asset and Wealth Management industry.
She interned at Vestmark, Inc, a fintech start-up missioned to create an innovative wealth management SaaS solution.
She received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Allyson holds a CPA license in the state of Massachusetts.
